Shay Austin

Apprentice Site Manager, Morris Property

Shay commenced his role at Morris Property in September 2024, joining the team working on-site at Concord College to create new sporting facilities and a new boarding residence. He is undertaking a Level 4 ‘Construction Site Supervisor’ course at Shrewsbury Colleges Group; a comprehensive program that will equip him with the essential knowledge and skills required to excel in a career in Construction.

Kirsty Russell

Finance and Administration Apprentice, Morris & Company

With a hospitality background, Kirsty decided to pivot her career towards finance, choosing to join Morris & Company due to our established presence in Shrewsbury.

Her three-year apprenticeship started in September 2024 and involves weekly studies at Shrewsbury Colleges Group, covering banking and insurance, financial accounting, and business finance.

Arran Johnston

Joiner Improver, Morris Joinery

The woodworking and joinery industry offers excellent job prospects with varied and interesting work with lots of progression opportunities.

Arran Johnson has recently completed his apprenticeship with Morris Joinery which he started in February 2022. His hard work and commitment have now been rewarded with an exciting new position as ‘Joiner Improver’ at our workshop in Bicton, Shrewsbury.

Conor Roberts

Assistant Site Manager, Morris Property

Conor, who completed his apprenticeship with the Morris construction team, has progressed through the ranks from Apprentice Site Manager to Assistant Site Manager following the completion of his studies.

Working in the construction industry provided Conor with many valuable skills such as; project management, problem-solving, teamwork, communication, leadership and a technical knowledge of construction process and materials. These skills are transferable and useful outside of work in various aspects of life.

Tom Potts

Apprentice Site Manager, Morris Property

“I am already developing new skills that I wouldn’t have done whilst at university. One thing I have learnt is the importance of communication with the teams on site and suppliers as it helps the site run smoother and safer. I’m looking forward to continue learning and developing responsibility.”

Tom is now working with the experienced team on site at Oteley Road, where he will stay until his course ends. Mentored by Site Manager, Pete Allworth, and Contracts Manager, Phil Griffiths, Tom is learning on the job and applying his theoretical knowledge into practical situations.
