Congratulations go out to Emma Powell from all her colleagues and friends in the Morris Group on her significant achievement of becoming Associate Solicitor.

Emma joined us in 2018 as a Chartered Legal Executive working with Company Secretary and Group Solicitor, Lyndsey O’Loughlin.  Last year Emma decided to undertake the Solicitors Qualifying Examinations, studying in her own time alongside her demanding job at Morris & Company.

To qualify, Emma had to undertake two days of written examinations in Birmingham in November ‘21 and five days of both written and oral examinations in Manchester in April ’22 – plus many a long night/weekend studying in between!   All the hard work has now paid off as Emma found out recently that she had passed her examinations with flying colours.  “I am thrilled to have qualified, although I won’t be changing my current role which I love, just my title!”

When asked about the challenge Emma added: “I think one of the hardest parts of the whole process for me was waiting 3-4 months after the exams for the final results!”

Lyndsey O’Loughlin explained that the Group are always happy to support career development and added that: “Emma brought the same diligence and tenacity to her studies as she applies every day at the office. We are all thrilled with her very well-deserved success.”
